OK, on with the content...

Another Hemisphere

Well, it's official - I have returned to the northern half of the globe. After two years back home underneath the equator, I have traded the southern cross for a sky full of unfamiliar stars once more. I'm happy to report it's the same old world out here, just as I left it; which is to say, mostly water and clouds. At least, that's my only lasting impression of the place from 39,000 feet, for the first 30 hours of long haul flights.

Leaving on a Jet Plane

Gid'day everyone! As promised, I am at long last writing again. Not counting photos it's been almost a year since I wrote anything substantial here. The last news I posted was typed from a nice hotel room in Sydney, just after I arrived to start my new job, with the year in front of me filled with the excitement and potential of being in a new place. Looking back, I have to say I haven't been disappointed. I feel a lot more emotional than I ever imagined I would that day last July, as I say goodbye to the place I've called home for almost a year, and the people that made it special for me. I feel very sad to leave. That really is, I think, the measure of a good year in my life.
